Angeloylgomisin Q is a secondary metabolite found in plants. This compound has been isolated from the leaves of Angelica sinensis and is a marker for this species. Angeloylgomisin Q has shown anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and antioxidant activities in vitro and in vivo studies. Angeloylgomisin Q has been shown to inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6, IL-1β, TNFα, and IL-8. It also inhibits the activity of bacterial enzymes such as phospholipase A2 and cyclooxygenase.
