Descripción:2-(2-Methoxybenzoyl)pyridine is a synthetic compound that is a 5-HT1A receptor agonist. It has been shown to stimulate the release of guanosine from ovary cells, which may be due to its ability to activate the G protein. 2-(2-Methoxybenzoyl)pyridine has been shown to inhibit the effects of antipsychotic haloperidol in vitro and in vivo. This may be due to its ability to antagonize the 5-HT1A receptor. This drug also inhibits ovary cell proliferation and induces apoptosis, which may be related to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis by binding with ribosomes and preventing translation.
