Carvedilol Related Compound C is a synthetic compound that belongs to the β-adrenergic receptor antagonists. It has been evaluated for its ability to prevent cardiovascular events, such as heart attacks and strokes, in patients with heart disease or high blood pressure. Carvedilol Related Compound C has been shown to be effective in vivo and in vitro. The pharmacopoeia standard for carvedilol is 2-[2-(3-carboxypropyl)piperidin-1-yl]-N,N-dimethylacetamide hydrochloride (CAS: 114113-05-2), but Carvedilol Related Compound C has not yet been assigned a CAS number. This compound was synthesized by reacting carvedilol with an excess of formaldehyde and then recrystallizing the product from ethanol and water.
