Daphnetin-8-glucoside is an antibiotic that belongs to the group of coumarin derivatives. It is a slow-release antibiotic that has a hydroxyl group, which is important for antibacterial activity. Daphnetin-8-glucoside has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth and reduce the incidence of chronic bronchitis in rats. Daphnetin-8-glucoside also inhibits bacterial growth by binding to ribosomes and interfering with protein synthesis, leading to cell death.
