Aristolactam A is a natural product of the aristolactam family. Aristolactams are compounds that inhibit depsidones, which are enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of polysaccharides. Aristolactam A has also been shown to have an interaction with acetate extract, as well as other natural inhibitors. The diffraction and assays performed on this compound show that it has a similar structure to dehydroroemerine and stictic, two other natural products from the aristolactam family. This natural product is found in plants such as Aristotelia chilensis and Aristotelia serrata.
