Erybraedin is a natural compound isolated from the acetate extract of Erythrina caffra. It has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Erybraedin is also an inhibitor of microbial metabolism and can be used in the treatment of infectious diseases. It is a natural compound that has been found to have apoptotic effects on human carcinoma cells. This compound has shown significant cytotoxicity toward various cancer cell lines.
