6-Hydroxy monopropylheptylphthalate (6-HMPA) is a metabolite of the drug dibutyl phthalate. It has been detected in human urine and can be used as a biomarker for exposure to this compound. The metabolism of dibutyl phthalate is primarily mediated by cytochrome P450 2C19, which converts it to 6-HMPA.
