This compound has been shown to have photochemical properties, which are ester linkages that spontaneously form when exposed to temperatures over 100°C. 4-(Decyloxy)phenylboronic acid can be used as an organic intermediate for other organic molecules, such as anthracene and biphenyl, which can be processed into carbohydrates through oxidation or reduction.
