6,7-Dihydro-5H-pyrrolo[3,4-b]pyridine is a proinflammatory agent that belongs to the class of naphthyridines. It has been shown to inhibit the transcription factor nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) and suppress inflammatory responses in vitro. 6,7-Dihydro-5H-pyrrolo[3,4-b]pyridine suppresses the production of prostaglandin E2 and was found to be active against autoimmune disorders in animal models. The compound has also been shown to have antihypertensive effects in animal models. 6,7-Dihydro-5H-pyrrolo[3,4-b]pyridine is a hydrocarbon with a heterocyclic nucleus consisting of six carbon atoms and seven hydrogen atoms.
