Descripción

Glyceollin IV is a bioactive compound that belongs to the group of phenylpropanoids. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the growth of phytophthora megasperma by binding to and activating receptor α, a member of the family of G protein-coupled receptors. This in turn leads to a cascade of biochemical reactions that result in the synthesis of phytoalexins, which are natural compounds with antioxidant and anticancer activity. Glyceollin IV also inhibits lipid peroxidation, which is associated with insulin resistance and cancer.
