• Descripción: Varespladib methyl is a secretory phospholipase A2 inhibitor that blocks the production of inflammatory lipids, such as low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C) and non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (non-HDL-C). Varespladib methyl has been shown to be effective in clinical studies for the treatment of heart disease. It also has anti-infectious effects against infectious diseases by inhibiting the production of oxygen transport proteins. Varespladib methyl is not effective in patients with type 2 diabetes, but it does have diagnostic properties for high sensitivity C reactive protein (hsCRP) levels.
