Isoneorautenol is a fatty acid that has been shown to be reactive with the mitochondrial membrane and cause a decrease in the mitochondrial membrane potential. Isoneorautenol has also been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against human colon carcinoma cell lines, including HCT116 cells. Furthermore, this compound can be used for the treatment of infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and cancer. Chemical analysis of isoneorautenol has revealed that it contains a hydroxyl group at carbon 5 and an ethyl chain with four carbons at position 4. The nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrum reveals a significant amount of chemical diversity in this molecule.
