1-Methyl-4-(2,4,6-trimethoxyphenyl)piperidine (MTMP) is a chiral organic solvent that can be used as a catalyst in the cleavage of racemic mixtures. MTMP is an enantiomer that can be synthesized from either 2, 4, 6-trimethoxybenzaldehyde or 1, 4-dimethoxybenzene. This chemical has been shown to interact with reagents such as hydrobromide and hydrogenated, which may lead to the formation of a substance. When MTMP is present in a mixture, it will form one of two possible stereoisomers, depending on whether the reaction was catalytic or not.
