I-CBP 112 hydrochloride is a histone deacetylase inhibitor that can be used to treat cancer. It binds to the protein complex that contains histones and acetylates them, thereby activating gene transcription. I-CBP 112 hydrochloride has been shown to have an effect on bladder cancer cells in mice, which was enhanced by the addition of cisplatin. This drug has also been shown to increase survival rates and extend life expectancy of tumor-bearing mice. I-CBP 112 hydrochloride inhibits the expression of Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) and SIRT3, which are important for cell survival and apoptosis.
