Descripción

Lutein is a natural drug that is used as a dietary supplement and has been shown to have antiviral properties. It is found in the leaves of plants and has been shown to inhibit influenza virus, primarily by preventing release of virus from infected cells. Lutein also inhibits neuraminidase activity, which prevents the virus from spreading. Lutein may be useful for treating influenza.
