Pyroxasulfone is a medicinal compound that acts as an inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinases, which are enzymes involved in regulating the cell cycle. It has been shown to have potent anticancer activity against various types of cancer cells, including human tumor cells. Pyroxasulfone works by inducing apoptosis, or programmed cell death, in cancer cells through the inhibition of protein kinases. This compound has also been found to inhibit the growth of Chinese hamster ovary cells and to have potential as a therapeutic agent for cancer treatment.
