GSK-J5 is a ligand that binds to the extracellular domain of the beta2-adrenergic receptor. It can be used as a research tool for investigating protein interactions and receptor activation. GSK-J5 has been shown to act as an agonist at the beta2-adrenergic receptor, activating its signaling pathway. This drug is not active in animal models of asthma, but it does show bronchodilatory properties in animal models of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. GSK-J5 is also a potent inhibitor of ion channels such as nicotinic acetylcholine receptors and potassium channels.
