Descripción

Stigmast-4-ene-3,6-dione is a natural compound that belongs to the class of terpenoids. It is a precursor for several biologically active compounds, such as linolenic acid (LA), α-amyrin acetate (AA), and matteucinol. Stigmast-4-ene-3,6-dione has been shown to have neuroprotective effects in animal models. This compound also has inhibitory activities against subtilisin and mcf-7 cells. These results suggest that stigmast-4-ene-3,6-dione may be used as an antiobesity agent or drug for the treatment of prostate cancer.
