Descripción:28-Demethyl-β-amyrone is a synthetic compound and can be used in chemotherapy. It also has antiviral, antiparasitic, natural, antibiotic and antifungal properties. 28-Demethyl-β-amyrone has been shown to have antibacterial activity against Gram positive bacteria. The chemical structure of 28-Demethyl-β-amyrone is similar to that of erythromycin, which is an antibiotic. This chemical binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit by competitive inhibition, preventing the formation of an antibiotic inhibitor complex with the enzyme cell wall synthesis that is required for cell wall biosynthesis.
