Información del producto
Methyl 4-(3-oxo-3-phenyl-1-propenyl) benzoate (MBP) is a phenylpropanoid glycoside that inhibits the growth of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. MBP has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of staphylococcus bacteria, which is a common cause of infection in humans. MBP binds to DNA gyrase and topoisomerases, which are enzymes involved in DNA synthesis and repair. In addition, it has been found that MBP can inhibit tumor growth by interacting with the curcumin analogues, resulting in an increased level of apoptosis or programmed cell death. The crystal structure of MBP has been determined using X-ray diffraction techniques, infrared spectroscopy, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. These techniques revealed that MBP binds to galactose residues on the surface of bacterial cells.
