SB 204070 is an acidic compound that has been studied for its effects on diabetic neuropathy. It is a competitive antagonist of the adenosine receptors, and has shown excitatory effects in animal models. SB 204070 is also an inhibitor of the DPP-IV enzyme, which is involved in the degradation of insulin and other peptides. In addition, it has been shown to have a 5-HT7 receptor agonist activity, and a 5-HT4 receptor agonist activity. The pharmacokinetics of SB 204070 are not well known, but it interacts with congestive heart failure medication such as digoxin.
