SX-682 is a molecule that has been shown to inhibit the activity of the protein PD-L1, which is a receptor for the cytokine IL-23. It also inhibits the growth of prostate cancer cells in vitro by blocking tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and IL-6 production. SX-682 also has anti-inflammatory effects that may be due to its ability to inhibit the myeloid derived suppressor cells, which are immune cells that suppress inflammatory responses. The biological function of SX-682 is not well understood but it is thought to have toxicity profiles similar to other monoclonal antibodies.
