Gne 220 hydrochloride is a peptide that has been shown to bind to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor. It inhibits the channel opening by binding to the extracellular domain of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, blocking the passage of ions and preventing depolarization. Gne 220 hydrochloride has been shown to act as an agonist at alpha-7 receptors in vitro, but it is not clear if this effect will be observed in vivo. This drug may also have immunosuppressive effects due to its ability to inhibit antibody production and proliferation of T cells.
