BAY 1000394 is a peptide that activates the receptor. It has been shown to be an inhibitor of ion channels, such as potassium channels and calcium channels. BAY 1000394 induces receptor-mediated endocytosis and has been shown to block potassium currents in cells. This peptide can also inhibit protein interactions, such as antibody-antigen binding and ligand-receptor binding. It is unclear how this peptide interacts with other proteins in the cell, but it may act by binding to specific sites on a protein’s surface. BAY 1000394 binds to the C-terminal region of GluR2 protein and inhibits glutamate receptor activity by interfering with glutamate transport from the synapse into the postsynaptic neuron.
