Beta-peltoboykinolic acid is a secondary metabolite found in the plant family of Fabaceae. It has been shown to have antibacterial and antiviral properties, as well as anti-inflammatory effects. This compound was isolated from the roots of the plant species Peltophorum pterocarpum. Beta-Peltoboykinolic acid is a white crystalline solid with a melting point of about 157°C and a molecular weight of 594.6 g/mol. This compound is soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, chloroform, ethyl acetate, and water. It has an optical rotation value (alpha) of -78°C in chloroform and an UV absorption maximum at 254 nm.
