Cyclokievitone is a natural product that belongs to the class of phytochemicals. It is a secondary metabolite isolated from plants, and has shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. Cyclokievitone has been shown to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis by inhibiting cyclooxygenase, which is an enzyme that converts arachidonic acid into prostaglandins. This compound also inhibits pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α. Cyclokievitone is structurally similar to NSAIDs and has been shown to be more potent than aspirin in inhibiting platelet aggregation. Cyclokievitone also shows anticancer effects against human cancer cells in vitro.
