It functions by selectively inhibiting the CBP/p300 family of histone acetyltransferases (HATs), essential regulatory proteins involved in chromatin remodeling and transcriptional activation. The inhibitor binds to the active site of these enzymes, hindering their activity, thereby disrupting the acetylation of histones and other substrates.
