SIS17 is a peptide with a molecular weight of 2.3 kDa that binds to the extracellular domain of the IL-1 receptor, acting as an inhibitor of IL-1α and IL-1β. SIS17 inhibits the activation of NF-κB and prevents translocation from the cytoplasm to the nucleus. It also inhibits phosphorylation of p38 MAP kinase and JNK, which may be due to its ability to bind to these proteins. SIS17 has been used in research as a tool for identifying new protein interactions, receptors, activators, and ligands for ion channels. SIS17 is soluble in water and has a purity level of >98%.
