Additionally, in primary cortical neuron cultures, Perfluoroenanthic acid alters dendritic spine morphology and synaptogenesis, enhances neural activity and synaptic transmission, and increases the expression of excitatory synapse-associated proteins Synaptophysin and PSD95.
