Applications 2-Bromo-N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)butanamide is used as a reagent in the synthesis of arylhexamethyleniminoacetamides which have potential local anesthetic activity. 2-Bromo-N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)butanamide is also a useful synthetic intermediate in the synthesis of Etidocaine (E932700, HCl).
