CAS :<p>Methyl 2-acetylpent-4-ynoate is an organic compound that can be used as a reagent in organic synthesis. It is a chiral molecule that has two stereogenic centers and can be used to produce epimeric mixtures. Methyl 2-acetylpent-4-ynoate reacts with pyrrole to form the corresponding pyrrolidine derivatives. The fluorescence properties of this compound have been analysed and it has been found that it has a high quantum yield, giving off light at wavelengths of 578 nm in dichloromethane solution.
