CAS :1,8-Dioxacyclotetradecane-2,9-dione (DOX) is a polycyclic hydrocarbon that has been found to be a reactive molecule in low light. It is also an aromatic hydrocarbon with a hydroxyl group and a monocarboxylic acid. DOX is thermally stable and does not decompose when heated. DOX has been shown to have antidepressant effects in rats, and it may also have antipsychotic effects. This drug can be used for the treatment of depression or psychotic depression. However, it should not be used for the treatment of psychotic depression because it may cause particle growth in the lungs and cause pulmonary fibrosis.
