Ethyl 3-aminobutanoate hydrochloride (EABH) is a cyclization agent that is used in organic chemistry for the synthesis of esters. EABH has a high regioselectivity for the formation of the Z-isomer, with a selectivity ratio of 100:1. This product can also be used as an intermediate for other chemical reactions. EABH is soluble in water and ethanol, but insoluble in ether and benzene. It has a melting point of 50°C and can be stored at room temperature.
