This compound is also an activator of ligand-gated ion channels, such as nicotinic acetylcholine receptor and gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptor. 4-(4-Bromophenoxy)-3-fluorobenzoic acid has not been shown to be an antagonist or agonist for any other receptor types. In addition, it can also be used as an antibody labeling agent in immunohistochemistry and Western blotting.
