CAS :4-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-2-butanone is a phenylpropionic acid that can be synthesized by the reaction of sodium carbonate, hydrochloric acid, and 4-methoxybenzaldehyde. The molecule contains a hydroxyl group and a phenylpropionic acid. 4-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-2-butanone has been shown to have anti-aging effects when applied topically in rat studies. This compound has been shown to increase hyaluronic acid synthesis in the skin and stimulate collagen production. It also inhibits fatty acid oxidation and reduces oxidative stress. In addition, 4-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-2-butanone has been found to be effective against basophilic leukemia cells in vitro.
