CAS :<p>Desacetyl cephapirin sodium salt is an ionic antibiotic that is hydrolyzed by ionic species. It has a buffered neutral pH and is photolytic, meaning it decomposes when exposed to light. Desacetyl cephapirin sodium salt is used as a second-line treatment for skin infections caused by methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). This antibiotic binds to the bacterial cell wall and blocks the production of folic acid, which prevents the bacteria from multiplying. Desacetyl cephapirin sodium salt has been shown to be effective against MRSA with high activity in vitro.
