2,5-Dimethoxycinnamic acid is an unsymmetrical phenolic compound that is synthesized from caffeic acid. It has been shown to have a number of biological activities such as anti-inflammatory, coagulation, and inhibitory effects on platelet aggregation. 2,5-Dimethoxycinnamic acid has also been shown to be a potent inhibitor of platelet aggregation and thrombosis formation in vitro.
