Methyl methylphosphonochloridate is a phosphoramidite compound that is used in the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds. It is a colorless liquid with a pungent odor, which has a boiling point of 205°C and melting point of -15°C. Methyl methylphosphonochloridate can be synthesized by reacting an amine with chloroethane and magnesium chloride. This compound is often used as an intermediate to produce other heterocyclic compounds, such as tropane alkaloids. The nitrogen atom in this molecule can be substituted with other functional groups such as phenyl groups or halogens. Methyl methylphosphonochloridate can also be used as an intermediate for the synthesis of histone deacetylase inhibitors, which are compounds that have been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in animal studies.
