PF 04447943 is a potent inhibitor of TNF-α, which is involved in the pathogenesis of IBD. This compound has been shown to have statistically significant efficacy in wild-type mice and to have low expression in human nuclear DNA. The onset latency of this drug is approximately one week. PF 04447943 inhibits NF-κB and other signal pathways that are involved in the inflammatory response. It also inhibits glutamate dehydrogenase and has shown activity against natural compounds in vitro.
