Description :
Bromure de tétradécyltriméthylammonium (TTAB) est un composé d'ammonium quaternaire caractérisé par sa longue chaîne hydrophobe de tétra-décyl et un groupe triméthylammonium chargé positivement. Cette nature amphiphile fait du TTAB un tensioactif efficace, lui permettant de réduire la tension superficielle et de stabiliser les émulsions. Il apparaît généralement sous forme de solide ou de poudre blanche à blanc cassé et est soluble dans l'eau, formant des micelles à des concentrations plus élevées.
