The mode of action of Cefprozil involves inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. It accomplishes this by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located inside the bacterial cell wall. This binding disrupts the synthesis of peptidoglycan, an essential component of the cell wall, leading to bacterial lysis and death.
