    <p>Temozolomide is an organic compound with a nitro group at the 8-position. It is used as a cytotoxic agent to treat cancer. Temozolomide has been shown to yield high yields of up to 98% when synthesized in acidic conditions, such as hydrochloric acid and methyl isocyanate. This compound can also be synthesized in basic ph conditions using carbamate chemistry. The sensitivity of this compound to nitrophenyl, nitrite, and chloride can be used to determine its purity.
