Cytochrome P450 14a-demethylase inhibitor 1M is a potent, selective, and orally bioavailable cytochrome P450 14a-demethylase inhibitor. It is an inhibitor of CYP14A1, which is the major cytochrome P450 isoform responsible for the metabolism of estrogens and progestogens. Inhibition of this enzyme may result in a decrease in estrogenic activity and a corresponding increase in progesteronic activity. Cytochrome P450 14a-demethylase inhibitor 1M has been shown to be an effective treatment for endometriosis by reducing the synthesis of estrogen. The compound has also been shown to have beneficial effects on bone remodeling and tumor growth, as well as anti-inflammatory properties.
