    <p>Sal-003 is a small molecule that dephosphorylates phosphatases. It has been shown to protect cells from cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity and growth factor withdrawal in vitro. In vivo, Sal-003 reduced the radiation-induced loss of protein synthesis in wild-type mice and was also found to suppress apoptotic signaling in human breast cancer cells. The protective effects of Sal-003 are thought to be due to its ability to inhibit the activity of phosphatases, which are important for maintaining cellular homeostasis.</p>
