    <p>Mebendazole-d3 is an antiparasitic drug that inhibits the synthesis of glucose in the helminth. It irreversibly inhibits the activity of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, which is an enzyme involved in the glycolysis pathway. This drug also has a benzoyl group that can be metabolized to form a carbamate, which binds to enzyme levels and prevents their activity. Mebendazole-d3 uptake by the parasite is mediated by specific receptors on its surface and this leads to death of the parasite by inhibiting microtubule formation. The drug is insoluble in water and it does not penetrate tissues well. Mebendazole-d3 has been used successfully against roundworm infections, pinworm infections, as well as other worm infections.</p>
