(4-Bromo-1-ethyl-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)piperazin-1-yl methanone hydrochloride is a novel inhibitor of cancer cell proliferation. It has been found to inhibit the growth of human breast cancer cells and to block the formation of new blood vessels in solid tumours. (4-Bromo-1-ethyl-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)piperazin-1-yl methanone hydrochloride also inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species by cancer cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit cell factor expression. This agent has also been shown to have an anticancer effect on resistant breast cancer cells, as well as other types of solid tumours.
