    3-[(4-Fluorophenyl)carbamoyl]prop-2-enoic acid is a fluorogenic compound that can be used as a substrate for conjugation reactions. 3-[(4-Fluorophenyl)carbamoyl]prop-2-enoic acid reacts with maleimides to form a fluorescent product, which emits light at a wavelength of 395 nm. This compound can also react with anhydrides to form the corresponding ester, which absorbs in the ultraviolet region at 295 nm. 3-[(4-Fluorophenyl)carbamoyl]prop-2-enoic acid is soluble in organic solvents such as xylene, and has been shown to decompose at temperatures above 400 °C.
