Applications 2'-Deoxy-3',5'-bis-O-[(1,1-dimethylethyl)dimethylsilyl]-5-[[[(1,1-dimethylethyl)dimethylsilyl]oxy]methyl]cytidine is an intermediate in the synthesis of modified pyrimidine that is capable of producing interstrand cross-links in duplex DNA. 4-(Hydroxymethyl)-2’-deoxycytidine can be analyzed to quantify DNA hydroxymethylation levels in biological samples.
