Mono-POC methyl tenofovir (mixture of diastereomers)

Tenofovir is a prodrug that is converted to tenofovir diphosphate (TFV-DP) by the action of thymidine kinase. Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) is a prodrug that is converted to TFV-DP by the action of phosphatidylinositol 4-kinase. This compound has been shown to inhibit HIV replication in vitro and in vivo. The process development of this compound has been characterized and found to be impurity free, with no unidentified peaks present. It has also been shown to have good stability at 40°C, pH 7, and pH 5 for up to 24 hours. Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) has not been found to have any anti-fertility effects on male rats at doses up to 200mg/kg/day or female rats at doses up to 100mg/kg/day.
