Benzo[d]thiazole-4-carboxylic acid is a potent inhibitor of dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH), an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of dihydroorotate to orotic acid. DHODH inhibitors are being investigated for their potential use in cancer treatment. Benzo[d]thiazole-4-carboxylic acid may be used as a lead compound in the development of new anti-cancer drugs. This inhibitor has been validated in vitro and in vivo and has shown efficacy against human cancer cell lines.
